CHARLIE JANSEN

Charlie is a visual artist working primarily with mixed-media sound installations. Driven by curiosity toward materiality and its physical potential to generate sound, her practice combines technical, mechanical and sonic research with sensory experimentation, resulting in immersive installations that invite attentive listening.

Her research centers on the relationship between material and its perceiver, specifically how, through experiential works, the often invisible medium of sound can be made visible to an audience.

Within KIT project space Charlie aims to provide a space for creative playfulness and experimentation, where the emphasis lay on DIY creation rather than polished works.

Charlie is currently developing a new sound installation as part of an ongoing research into vibration and the material and sonic properties of metal.
